Ganga River Flood Situation Worsens in Bihar

Patna, September 3, 2026: The flood situation in Bihar has become increasingly serious as the water level of the Ganga River continues to rise. Several low-lying areas in districts including Patna, Bhagalpur, Buxar, Bhojpur, Khagaria and Vaishali have been affected.

Continuous rainfall and increased water flow have raised concerns among people living near the riverbanks. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation, while rescue and relief preparations are underway in vulnerable areas. Reports indicate that several locations along the Ganga in Bihar are at or above warning and danger levels.

Residents in flood-prone areas have been advised to remain alert and follow instructions issued by the local administration. The government and disaster management teams are working to provide assistance and move people to safer places where necessary.

Authorities have appealed to citizens to avoid dangerous riverbank areas and stay updated on official flood warnings.
